Dzorap School Project
The village of Dzorap or Aghtsk is twenty minutes outside of Yerevan. The school renovation project came into existence in 2007, when we visited a friend in Dzorap. We found a warm and friendly community but with an unfortunate deteriorating school comprising of 400 children and teens, K thru 12th.

The conditions found in this school were harsh: broken doors and windows, snow and wind coming into the classrooms in the cold winter months, old radiators without fuel, doors broken and deteriorating walls, ceilings and floors, unsanitary bathrooms and broken stairs transporting kids to the classrooms upstairs... tables and chairs almost non-functional.  But in contrast we were motivated by 400 kids eager to learn, teachers eager to teach, a community motivated to help contribute their time and effort to build.
